Community Projects
A variety of fund-raising and good deeds

This is the area of the club involved with finding projects that we can support and then raising the funds or more often lending a helping hand.

Some of the tasks that we have been involved with include the painting of the science and technology room at the Redway School, Netherfield, Milton Keynes and the stripping of the perimeter fence and by providing labour to perform tasks such as painting or cleaning, as shown in the photographs above.

If you have a project in our local areas that you wish us to consider, please contact us on 07913 864 669 or email us with the details and we will contact you as soon as we can.

Casino Nights
Milton Keynes Rotary charity casinos The usual way we raise funds during the year is by running casino nights for private and company parties. We own 2 roulette wheels and baizes, all the chips necessary, plus a craps table, packs of cards to run "poker", "blackjack" and "Newmarket" games, plus plenty of experience and enthusiasm to put on these events.

We charge the person or company to run these nights which we "man" on the night. They are a lot of fun to be at as well!

See more about the projects we have done and extra pictures here

Other Rotary clubs hire the casino equipment from us for a charity event; we only charge them a minimal fee.

Stilt walkers graced the Las Vegas stand with another TALL Elvis.

On Sunday the 15th June, the Brickhills Rotary Club lent a hand with the ExtraCare Brolly Walks round Willen Lake. At special points round the lake, the walkers were able to visit certain countries and cities. We were manning Las Vegas which was the last stop before the finish line.

The idea was to raise sponsorship from the walk and there was a prize for the best dressed brolly. The lovely site was all the residents for all the ExtraCare retirement villages round the country that participated. Many of them being pushed by their carers.

Easter Saturday 22/03/08 saw blizzards and snow falling in Milton Keynes and this was the day that Rotary district 1260 put on the biggest event in its' history.

We took over the Middleton Hall in the Shopping Centre and 21 clubs along with their associated charities and good causes put on a free show for the public. each club had a dynamic activity to attract families and along with 3 competitions, we encouraged the public to visit all the stands and partake in a free day of fun and frolics.

Building a shed for the Mayday Trust
Milton Keynes Rotary charity shed building
It is taking shape, our "surveyor" checks the work so far.
We raised some funds for the local women's refuge at Christmas and as a consequence they asked us The Brickhills Rotary Club, to help them by erecting this massive shed in the grounds one weekend.

Getting the base correct is the first step Are you supposed to fit the roof from the inside?

It was hard work but a lot of fun and the refuge were thrilled with the result.
Nearly finished, just fitting this white thing... The proud shed builders of the Brickhills Rotary Club!
